Biodegradable plastics refer to the plastics that are degraded by microorganisms existing in nature under the conditions of nature, soil and/or sand, and/or specific conditions, anaerobic digestion or aqueous culture medium, and finally completely degraded into carbon dioxide or/methane, water and the mineralized inorganic salts of its elements, as well as new biomass.

More than 90% of the organic carbon in the plastic has been converted during the experimental period (up to 180 days), which proves that PSM ® Biodegradable plastics (compostable) can be completely biodegradable (according to Part 2 of EN13432 standard). The degradation curve shows that more than 90% of biodegradable plastics can be successfully converted into carbon dioxide, water, energy and biological carbon in only 80 days.

The compostability of biodegradable plastics (compostable) has been tested by the international authoritative testing agency according to EN13,432 and ASTMD6400 standards, and certified by the independent third-party certification agencies DIN CERTCO and VINCOTTE, and has obtained the "Compostable" logo and the "OK Compost" logo.
